We haven't featured a video in a while at the Motel, but finally completing her Green Man coverage last week has reminded Kate of the sobering shock that she felt on reading about the death of Charles Haddon from Ou Est Le Swimming Pool first thing on the Saturday morning. The band had been to Pukkelpop in Belgium, and the video to their new single The Key, released next week, features footage from their last performance together there.
Charlie's bandmates have organised a sold-out gig tonight at KOKO in London to raise money for Mind. Mind aims to protect and promote good mental health for everyone - the most noble of causes, and one which really deserves your continued support now and in the future. So after you've watched the video, why not pop along to Mind's website and find out more about them? You can also get involved and donate online.
The Key by Ou Est Le Swimming Pool receives a full single release next Monday, October 10th. Their album The Golden Year follows the day after. The band, along with artist Jimi Crayon, will also be working with closely with the charity CALM in their work to reduce suicide in young men.
