Just to say many thanks to everyone who came down to the Fugitive Motel's launch night at Scubar in central Manchester this time last week. Your presence was greatly appreciated, and the place was nearly full!
Of course, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to all the bands who performed - The Search Map, Tim and Sam's Tim and the Sam Band With Tim and Sam and Sonic Anaphones, as well as our DJs, Rich from High Voltage, Oscar 'Alex from Modernaire' Wildstyle and "residents" (as Kate shall be calling them from now on) Eddy Hogg and Andy Parry, Marc Joy for the PA and superb sound in a tricky venue, as well as all the members of the Motel who turned organisers, door guardians, decorators and tidy-uppers for the night, as well as flyering valiantly in the fortnight before the event. If you recycled our flyers, we thank you more. Many thanks to Alice at Student Direct, Cath Aubergine at Manchester Music, METRO North West, the Guide at XFM Manchester and Rachel at Channel M for their support and publicity.
The final total raised for the British Heart Foundation (please do go visit their website at www.bhf.org.uk) was a splendid £296.13, which I'm sure you'll agree is excellent.
In the meantime, admire our sleek new look, read our fresh music copy and wait with baited breath - you'll be the first to find out when our next exciting event is!
